Indigo Shibori

The time-honored Japanese tradition of blocking areas of fabric with string and wood blocks is explored in this two-day class hosted by Sweet and Savory Farmette in Buskirk, NY. We will bind and prepare our fabric and set up our indigo vat on the first day. On day two we will dip our bundles successively until they are a deep hue of indigo. We unwrap our bundles and enjoy each other’s amazing designs, and take our work home to give them their final wash. https://www.ceceswool.com/events-and-classes/

Workshop Fee: $175. Please Contact me to register for this class and to discuss materials. NYhandweaver@gmail.com

Students bring: Thoroughly washed plant-based fabric pieces, ie. linen, cotton, ramie, rayon. Silk can also be used in this room-temperature indigo vat.
