Beginners will weave colorful rugs in tabby or balanced twill patterns. More experienced weavers will choose from a variety of weave structures that are suitable for rag rug weaving, such as Goose eyes, various other Twills, Rosepath, Krokbragd, or Double-Bind. Students work with me prior to the workshop to choose their warp colors and weave structures.. Teaching focus will be on warping a 4-harness loom, determining appropriate widths of rag to cut for each weave structure, perfecting edges, appropriate warp tension, handling multiple shuttles and color interplay.
